The love of the Red Sox comes with the hate of the yankees. They have been the rivals of the Red Sox since the beginning of the curse of the Bambino. They are because the Red Sox traded Babe Ruth to the yankees because he wasnt doing all that great for our team. But once he got to the yankees is when he started to become great. Since the year that they traded him they hadnt won the World Series till 2004. He was one of the greatest players to play the game. But people believe that he was the start of the curse. They went to the World Series many times but never won it. Bill Buckner was one of the most famous errors or mistakes to loose the world series. The Red Sox were playing the New York Mets. When Mookie Wilson hit a ground ball right to him at first base. Buckner went down to get the ball it went right through his legs and into the outfield. The game winning run came in and the Red Sox lost the world series again. But everyone thought that we were cursed and that we werent supposed to win because of the bad deal we had made many years before. People had shirts and many other things including me that said ‘Reverse the Curse’. One of my favorite shirts that I saw and had was a picture of pitches, with no balls and 2 strikes and 2 outs. Under that it said Jeter has no balls. They make up some great funny things against the yankees. They had even made a movie about the Red Sox. The movie was called ‘Fever Pitch’. My favorite baseball team in all of the MLB is the Boston Red Sox. They are one of the biggest names in all of Baseball. Their home field is called Fenway Park. It is also one of the most well known fields in all of baseball. It is the oldest field in the game today. What makes it so well known is “the green moster”. The green monster is the left field wall. The wall is thirty-seven feet tall and is the largest wall in all of the fields. When the wall was first made it was used as a giant billboard, but was soon stopped being a billboard due to being a distraction to the batters. They did not take down the wall but painted the entire thing green and became the green monster. Not to long ago the Red Sox did not have a mascot, but it soon became ‘Wally’ the green monster that lived in the left field wall. Even though there mascot is the Wally the green monster and their wall is the the green monster their colors are red, blue and white. Sometimes during the preseason they will have a green jersey but during the regular season their jerseys are white, gray and blue. The most well known thing about the Red Sox is the curse. The name of the curse is ’ the curse of the Bambino’. The Red Sox traded Babe Ruth to the yankees and thats when it all started. Since that trade it took the Red Sox 86 years to win the world series. It was the longest time in the MLB that a team had not won the world series. They finally won in 2004, against the St. Louis Cardinals. It was a series sweep 4 games to none.

Since the team has started it has always been a great team and well known. They may not have been able to win it all but they have had great teams. They have been to the world series multiple times but hadnt have won it until 2004. Although they have always made it to the play-offs unlike the yankees. The yankees are the rival team of the Red Sox. Some people believe that the yankees and Re Sox are the biggest rival in all of sports. These teams have been in multiple fights and brawls with eachother. There might be many fight with the players but it doesnt compair to the fights of the fans. There has been fights with players and players. There has also been players against Coaches. Padro Martinez had gotten in a fight with Don Zimmer. It wasnt a long fight, it was just funny. Padro and Don were walking towards eachother and Padro grabbed Don’s head and threw him to the ground. Another big fight was between Varitek and A-Rod. A-Rod is my most hated player in all of baseball. He is just a big baby. A lot of the Red Sox fans have all noticed that he has different colored lips. They have made shirts out of his lips. We all say that they look purple.
